The Power is in the question…

The power is in the question.

The right question helps people think critically.

Giving them answers negates the need to think critically.

The right question helps people solidify and deepen their knowledge.

Giving answers creates a surface-level understanding.

The right question shows where people have gaps in their understanding.

Giving answers never exposes those gaps.

The right question leads to confidence in their ability to think and answer for themselves.

Giving answers robs them of this opportunity.

The right question creates a sense of ownership that elevates buy-in.

Giving answers often reduces buy-in

Asking the right question helps them see their wisdom and intelligence.

Giving answers helps them see your wisdom and intelligence.

Asking the right questions helps them connect dots and second-order thinking.

Giving answers creates first-order thinkers.

The person doing the talking is often the one doing the learning.

If you want your people to learn, grow, and develop at a faster rate...ask them questions!
