Every aSSistant coach dreams of running his own program…
The thought of being in charge of your schedule, implementing YOUR vision, proving to others that you have what it takes to run your own program, etc., are huge motivators.
However, very few are willing to go the extra mile to prepare for the opportunity.
The Assistant Baseball Coach Cohort is designed to grow your leadership so that you are prepared when you get that head coaching job!
Leadership is often the most under-discussed aspect of a coach's life. Just think of what is talked about at a clinic or convention…
Developing hitters: Check.
Arm care for pitchers: Check
Drills for infielders: Check
Leading yourself: not so much
Leading others: not so much
Preparing for the interview: not so much
Coaches rarely, if ever, get fired because of a lack of sport expertise. Coaches work their whole professional life to get a chance to run their own program and yet the thing that often trips them up is not baseball related, it’s leadership related.
Your ability to lead will directly dictate the level you can rise to. John Maxwell calls it the law of the lid. Raise your leadership capacity and ability, raise the lid on your career.

*History says you will never be 100% prepared for your first head coaching job. However, intuitively we know that some are more prepared than others…this cohort will help you be as prepared as you can possibly be!!!!
