One of life's best hacks...

One of life's best hacks is to get around people who make you better.

Get around people who are better thinkers and have sharper insight and are more disciplined and have greater clarity of who they are...get around those people not so that you can mimick them but so that you can be sharper, have greater clarity of who you are, be more disciplined, be a better thinker, etc.

It is John Maxwell's law of the inner circle which states a leader's potential is determined by those closest to him/her.

The people you hang with will determine your trajectory, direction, and growth (or lack of).

It is amazing how this principle/hack plays out. I have seen it over and over again.

It has absolutely played out in my life. I can come up with no less than 30 names of people who at some point helped me be better in some area of my life.

I would call them life changers. Not the life changer that comes along when you are in a gutter with a needle in your arm and lifts you up out of drug addiction.

I am talking about life changers that you spend time with and they, slowly but surely, rub off on you and you are forever changed. That type of life changer.

You have most likely experienced this in your life.

However, the older we get, the more intentional we must be to put ourselves around life changers.

Left to our own devices, we will grow stagnant and dull. We must be radically intentional about continued growth. And one of the best ways to do that is position ourselves around those we want to be more like.

Who do you need to get around more often?

You still must put in the work. But those people will be like wind into your sail.
