The Controlling leader

When you try to control what you can only influence, you will come across as:

  • manipulating

  • power hungry

  • stressed

  • domineering

  • uptight

  • overly forceful

  • a know-it-all all

  • anxious

  • it's all about you

When you try to control what you can only influence, you will:

  • drive yourself crazy

  • exhaust yourself

  • stress yourself out

  • feel inadequate

  • make poor decisions

  • lose sight of what is really important

  • focus on what you don't have more than what you do have

Control what you can control.

Influence what you can influence.

And know the difference between the two.

There is no doubt that he is the biggest asset to my leadership and has reenergized my coaching style." Jeff Duncan, Head Baseball Coach, Kent State
