Softball Coaches
Assistant Coach Cohort
*Coming in August 2025
Every aSSistant coach dreams of running Their own program…
The thought of implementing YOUR vision, proving to others that you have what it takes to run your own program, being in charge of your schedule, etc., are huge motivators.
However, very few are willing to go the extra mile to prepare for the opportunity.
The Assistant Softball Coach Cohort is designed to grow your leadership so that you are prepared when you get your head coaching opportunity!
Leadership is often the most under-discussed aspect of a coach's life. Just think of what is talked about at a clinic or convention…
Developing hitters: Check.
Strategies for pitchers: Check
Drills for infielders: Check
Leading yourself: not so much
Leading others: not so much
Preparing for the interview: not so much
Coaches rarely, if ever, get fired because of a lack of sport expertise. Coaches work their whole professional life to get a chance to run their own program and yet the thing that often trips them up is not baseball related, it’s leadership related.
The Kingdom Coaching Assistant cohort
This cohort is a 5-month journey that will provide development, equipping, and a community of like-minded coaches. It will be a group that helps you get better, see things more clearly, challenge you to think differently, create personal connections, make better decisions, solve problems, and resources you to take advantage of opportunities.
The cohort is specifically tailored for high level achievers who are not just looking to improve today but who also have a vision of one day leading their own program. If you are NOT hungry to grow, get better, and position yourself to be the best leader and coach you can be… this is not for you.
We will explore three core aspects of leadership: Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading an Organization/Program.
Some topics that will be covered…
The power of self-awareness
Discovering our true identity and knowing your leadership fingerprint
Principles for personal development
Keys to building an elite environment
Inspire through storytelling
Gain clarity of the program’s standards, expectations and values
Staff development and management
How to be a better decision maker
First 30 days on the job
Interview preparation
There are two keys to becoming and succeeding as a head coach…being prepared to get the job and being prepared to do the job. We will help you with both of these aspects.
*History says you will never be 100% prepared for your first head coaching job. However, intuitively we know that some are more prepared than others…this cohort will help you be as prepared as you can possibly be!!!!
