What is the best way to solve problems in your life?
We often think to ‘add’ when problem-solving. Try subtracting.
- Have a weight issue…don’t add some fancy diet. Simply subtract the two things that are causing weight gain (soda and donuts:).
- Feeling discontent? Instead of adding a hobby, stuff, or people to fix the discontentedness, subtract some things.
- Feel overwhelmed? Instead of buying a course on time management, take two to three things off your plate.
- Frustrated with the efficiency of staff meetings? Don’t have a meeting about inefficiency or bring in an efficiency expert, just subtract 1/4 of the time you usually allot for staff meetings and this will create urgency and less wasted time.
Instead of creating more complexity by addition, simplify by subtraction. |
