The foundation of great, healthy leadership!

Quick question: Do you get your identity FROM the room or do you TAKE IT into the room with you?

It is critical that you know your true identity.

Who you are… how you’re wired, how you’re gifted, your passions, your internal compass, and spiritual DNA… all of these things together make up your true identity.

So why is it so important to know your true identity?

Two reasons.

1. Walking in a false identity minimizes our leadership. We believe the lies that play like a recording in our minds “You’re unworthy!” “You’re less than!” “You’re a failure” “You are…”.

These start as small thoughts that turn into identities the longer we let them marinate in our minds.

Walking around believing these false identities always leads to walking in fear. Fear of failure, fear of being found out, fear of what others think, etc.

This fear produces internal conflict. And it is just a matter of time before this internal conflict becomes external… spewing out all over those you are leading.

2. Knowing your true identity then taking your it into every ‘room’ as opposed to getting it from the room is a game-changer. You will walk in a fearless, unconflicted way when you know your true identity. Whether your ‘room’ is a locker room, board room, classroom, a room with boosters, parents, fans, etc… taking your identity into that room is so critical and important.

This means you walk in that room knowing who you are. You are comfortable in your own skin. You will be fearless. You will be able to engage and love people not for what they can give you but simply because that is what we are supposed to do.

You will be without that internal conflict that is sure to spill out. There is nothing more magnetic than a person who is without conflict, without judgment, and without the need to please others.

This person is free to lead/coach with freedom…making them a better leader and in turn, they help those around them become better.

Summary

Walking in a false identity will leave you conflicted, burdened, exhausted and just simply not as good as you could be.

Walking in your true identity will allow you to walk fearlessly, unconflicted, creative, clear thinking and maximize your potential.

Knowing your true identity is a game changer!
